Women's Ministry

The women ministry is a vibrant ministry in the Assemblies of God church that

brings all the women together, creates an atmosphere for enhanced learning for

spiritual growth and maturity. It is opened to both single and married women and

meets twice a month for bible studies, program planning and exploring the possible

ways women can serve God in the church.

The motto and anthem of the ministry both talk about women serving and working

for Master Jesus. This is deep rooted in the undeniable service rendered by women

to Jesus Christ during His ministry on earth. Mary and Martha served Jesus, and

opened their home for Him and His disciples. Martha was busy cooking for them

as Mary sat at Jesus’ feet to listen to Him (Luke 10:38-42).

Also many women as noted in the scripture;

‘After this Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming

the good news of the kingdom. The twelve were with Him, and also some women

who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases. Mary called Magdalene from

whom seven demons had come out; Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of

Herod’s household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to

support out of their own means.’

Yes, those women served in Jesus’ ministry and ministered to their needs out of

their own pockets. This selfless service is what guides the women ministry. Anna

is said to have married for only seven years, and lived as a widow to eighty-four

years. She devoted her life to fasting and praying in the temple of God and God

caused her to see the messiah at His dedication, (Luke 2:36-39).

Lydia, a business women bible says she was a dealer in purple cloth and a

worshiper of God who received Paul and Silas into her home and ministered to

them, (Acts 16:14-15). Yes these were women of faith.

This is the spirit of service, loving God with all our heart, soul and strength.

Therefore the women ministry meetings creates a forum for spiritual

development, helping women to attain growth in knowledge and wisdom!

GOAL: the ultimate goal is then to apply the acquired knowledge and wisdom to

practical life situations in one’s marriage, children’s upbringing, job situations

WOMEN ARE HOME BULDIERS AND CHRIST IS CALLING WOMEN TO HELP

BUILD HEALTHY FAMILIES AND RAISE GENERATIONS IN CHRIST WHO

WILL WALK IN THE FEAR OF GOD AND POSSESS THE EARTH!
